What if I were to come up to you on the street and say:
Hi! My name is Cynthia. Would you like to participate in an activity that’s isolating, disembodied, emotionally fraught, and likely to bring up your primal fear of rejection?
You’d say “NO,” right?
You’d be crazy not to.
Well that’s exactly the kind of conditions that a writing session often creates. And guess what? Humans aren’t built to love that kind of situation.
I think procrastination is often a deep aversion to these negative conditions.
But you might have a lot more control over this than you think. You can actually learn to leverage the power of your nervous system to overcome your procrastinating ways.
One way to do this is by using what I call The Pleasure Shot. Learn more about these and how to easily integrate them into every writing session you have.
